As part of Rajeev Masand‘s Bollywood Roundtable, five Bollywood leading ladies got together: Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte. During their conversation, which seemed to be centred around sexual abuse, Sonam said that she’d been molested when she was younger:
I know I have been molested when I was younger and it’s traumatizing.
Anushka chimed in by saying that when she was a kid, her mom asked her a bunch of questions, like whether she was touched inappropriately – questions that she, at the time, found odd.
It’s sad that practically every woman has some story like this, but it’s heartening to see more people open up about, especially women with a platform.
