B- town’s most beloved and stylish sisters, Sonam K Ahuja and Rhea Kapoor are currently holidaying in style. The Kapoor sisters have touched down in the City Of Angels aka Los Angeles and are planning on soaking up some LA sun and lifestyle on their girls getaway. They kickstarted their trip with a shopping spree on Abbot Kinney in Venice known to be the coolest block in America. Their first stop was female-owned Aviator Nation – a lifestyle brand inspired by 1970’s California where the girls fell in love with their distressed hoodies and sweatpants.
I mean what’s a girls getaway without shopping, amirite? The Kapoor girls have clear priorities for sure.

Check out some of the pictures from their shopping trip:

Next Rhea and Sonam headed to grab a bite at  MTN, a farm-to-table Izakaya helmed by acclaimed Chef Travis Lett. A perfect veg and non-veg friendly place to dine together on dishes like the vegan grilled meiji tofu ramen or sake marinated jidori chicken wings.

Check it out:

Shopping and food, two things I love. How I’d love to be on this trip with these two stylish sisters.

Can you blame me? Look at these pictures!

Earlier this year, the sister had taken a trip to Soneva Fushi, the Maldives with their respective SOs for Rhea’s boyfriend Karan Boolani’s birthday.

Take a look:

What is the procedure to become a travel influencer? I’m signing up STAT after taking a look at the Kapoor vacation pictures.

Sonam and Rhea Kapoor have always been the two most badass, fun. friendly and stylish sisters in B-town. So naturally, when they headed to LA for a little girl’s trip, we were quite vested already! From evening’s by the beach to hanging and eating at the coolest places, our mind (and eyes) were only looking forward to what Sonam was wearing.

And to our surprise, she kept it so simple, yet fashionable that any girl can recreate these looks from her wardrobe! So check out these 4 OOTDs that you’ll love and want to wear whether you’re on vacation or not!

1. Summer-day Chic

Sonam wears a very sophisticated, yet mod white dress from Ralph & Russo with a belted feature that accentuated her waist. The wrap-like dress was paired with brown leather Gucci loafers and a Louis Vuitton chain pouch bag.

2. Free-spirited & Flow-y

Dressed to the T for a summer in LA, Sonam’s choice of an easy, breezy two-piece was a great idea. The Fatima Shaikh army green set came with a knotted waist, billowed sleeves and a calf-cut A-line skirt.

3. Sporty Sophistication

B is for bae (Anand Ahuja), Bhaane and basketball! Making a stylish appearance for a Lakers game, Sonam wears red pullover sweater over a navy dress.

4. Mellow In Yellow

Looking super happy, Sonam’s fresh smile and outfit is courtesy Bhaane. The mustard yellow sweater top was paired with straight-fitted jeans and navy accessories to off-set the whole look.

Which look are you into?

Dulquer Salmaan Reveals He Gets Super Nervous While Shooting For Intimate Scenes

Dulquer Salmaan (Source: Instagram | @dulquersalmaan)

Bollywood may have discovered the treasure trove that is Dulquer Salmaan. But South Indians have watched him and loved him ever since his first stint on-screen in Malayalam. DQ who made his debut in Bollywood with Karwaan alongside Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar was recently seen with Sonam Kapoor in The Zoya Factor. While we’re still waiting to see him in more Bollywood films, it looks like Dulquer has made his place in Bollywood already. What with getting invited to the biggest Bollywood bash at the Bachchan household and being one of the guests on Neha Dhupia‘s popular podcast #NoFilterWithNeha. While on the show with Neha, DQ talked about how shooting for an intimate scene still makes him uncomfortable. So much that, his hands start shaking. He also went on to share a trick that he does while performing such scenes.

Talking in detail about the same to Neha, he said:

My hands shake. One of my tricks when I do intimate scenes, I always tuck women’s hair behind their ear. I find it very endearing, in real life also. But in real life, it’s easier because the person is familiar. I share a familiarity with my wife, even with my sister or mother. When I do share physical contact or affection with them, its easy for me in real life.

He further added:

Every time I’m with a co-star — I mean, I have got a lot better now — I’m always thinking, ‘are they thinking that I’m a jerk to be getting a kick out of this?’ Women are quick to find out. They are very sharp at seeing this and are almost always amused by this. And then I feel like I’m naked, that they can see right through me — see what I’m going through. Someone like Sonam is very sweet about it but those intimate scenes are still not my favourite things to shoot.

If that’s not the sweetest thing that you’ve heard. I don’t know what is. For those who are yet to educate yourself on Dulquer, trust me and watch, Ustad Hotel, O Kadhal Kanmani, and Charlie for starters.

5 Times Sonam Kapoor’s Makeup Was Anything But Basic

Honest, creative and downright stunning, Sonam Kapoor is one person I highly admire. It’s a known fact that she’s known for her bold fashion choices. Fashion and acting are the two things that probably come to anyone’s mind whenever anyone mentions Sonam Kapoor. However, I want to talk about something that most of us have been sleeping on—her makeup looks. We’ve seen some great new beauty trends in 2019, but we rarely ever get to see them on our favourite celebrities. Not everyone is brave enough to experiment. Fortunately, fashion is not the only area where Sonam makes bold choices. 2019 is the year where we’ve seen her pull off some of the edgiest makeup looks. Here are some of our favourites:

1. All Pink Everything

Pastel eyeshadow colours were in the spotlight this year and Sonam made sure to give this trend a try. In this look, we can spot a soft pink shade on her lids, lips and cheeks. Monochrome FTW!

2. Sunshine Yellow Lids

If there is one person who could pull off yellow eyeshadow effortlessly it’s Sonam Kapoor! This makeup look is one of my favourites!

3. Pop Of Burgundy Eyeshadow

Sonam usually adds some drama to her eyes with some kohl eyeliner, in this makeup look she opted for a burgundy shade instead of classic black and it makes all the difference.

4. Barely There Lip Stain

This makeup look is proof that less is more. Sonam Kapoor opted a lip stain instead of a bold lip for this look and perfectly pulls the entire look together.

P.S. how cute is that heart-shaped hair clip?

5. Cut Crease Perfection

Why end your eyeliner at the end of your lash line when you can extend it up to your crease? This makeup look is what you called cut crease perfection!

Which of Sonam Kapoor’s makeup look is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below.

Shraddha Kapoor & Kangana Ranaut Are Bringing Back Brocade In A Big Way

Shraddha Kapoor & Kangana Ranaut are gearing up for the release of their films (Street Dancer 3D & Panga, respectively) that happens to be scheduled for release on the same day—January 24, 2020. For their promotional events, both ladies have been serving up some glamorous looks and we’re loving it.

Fashion in itself is a huge industry and has become an integral part of the Bollywood industry. Celebrities have easily embraced the changing times and with that bridged the gap between International and Indian labels.

Tanya Ghavri styled Shraddha in a Reem Acra outfit—the look comprised of a black, brocade crop top with tie-straps and was paired with black, velvet, palazzo pants. The brocade on her crop top is reminiscent of Renaissance royalty, but just as easily represents classic elegance for the modern woman. Her look was finished out with gold, Jimmy Choo shoes and jewellery from celebrity favourite, Farah Khan Ali and Jet Gems.

Makeup artist, Shraddha Naik did light smokey eyes and soft pink lips, and Nikita Menon styled Shraddha with a centre-parted, low chignon. The actress sure does look angelic in this do.

Kangana’s appearance last night on the sets of Indian Idol 10 was definitely a memorable one. She looked fantastic in her silk, mustard, yellow kurta-churidar from Raw Mango by Sanjay Garg. Her black, kimono style, brocade jacket was definitely the highlight though. Styled with a belt, a collar necklace from Amrapali and black-wedged, pumps from Christian Louboutin embellished her look perfectly. She totally gives us ‘fierce ninja’ vibes in this ensemble.

Makeup artist, Loveleen Ramchandani kept the makeup clean with a contoured cheek and winged liner. Whereas Haseena Shaikh gave Kangana a middle parting with straight slick hair.

Just some quick trivia for all you fashion enthusiasts, in case you weren’t already aware—Brocade is a woven fabric having raised floral or filigree designs and is often made in coloured silks with or without gold and silver threads.

This fabric is most commonly turned into sarees, salwar-suits, kurtas, lehengas and is a major part of a woman’s wedding trousseau. Apart from clothing, it’s usage is mostly found in upholstery and draperies.

Here are a few of our favourite Bollybabes sporting the brocade trend:-

1. Deepika Padukone in Raw Mango by Sanjay Garg styled by Shaleena Nathani

DP wearing Shanira Aadiya brocade kurta from Sanjay Garg’s collection ‘Cloud People.’

2. Aditi Rao Hydari in Manish Malhotra styled by Sanam Ratansi

Aditi wearing a Banarasi lehenga paired with a velvet, off-shoulder blouse.

3. Karisma Kapoor in Payal Khandwala styled by Esha Amiin

Karisma wearing an A-line kurta worn over a white shirt and paired with flared brocade trousers.

4. Anushka Sharma in Roberto Cavalli styled by Allia Al Rufai

Anushka wearing a gold pant-suit paired with a brocade-patterned jacket from Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2016 collection.

5. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in Payal Khandwala styled by Rhea Kapoor

Sonam in a limited edition brocade lehenga with a pleated poncho from Payal Khandwala‘s A/W ’15 collection.

Disha Patani At The Malang Screening

The screening of Malang, the Aditya Roy Kapur & Disha Patani-starrer was held last night and attended by the who’s who of the Bollywood film industry. The action thriller’s star cast including Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu were also present too. And obviously, our celebs were turnt up. So, Here’s a list of my favourite looks.

Disha Patani

Disha looked angelic in an all-white, co-ord set. Her crop top had bedazzled straps and her white skirt with a thigh-high slit was highlighted with diamond fringe detailing along the seam. I love how she’s mixed metals with a delicate, gold necklace, silver hoops, a silver bracelet and silver midi-rings. Now, I know this seems excessive, but since they’re all tiny elements they work stupendously well together.

Disha kept her makeup muted, with brown, smokey eyes and a nude, glossy lip. Tousled, messy hair add to the wildness of this look.

Disha Patani At The Malang Screening

Rakul Preet

This graffiti jacket on Rakul Preet is totally caught my eye and won my heart. I love me an oversized denim jacket and this one takes it a bit further with it’s art work. I love that she kept it simple and paired it with a white crop top and high-rise, denim shorts. A watch and a sparkly sneakers finish out her look.

Rakul let’s her outfit do the talking and does neutral makeup. Middle parted, wavy hair complete her look.

Rakul Preet At The Malang Screening

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif showed up in a super dressy but totes wearable look. A light blue dress with exaggerated sleeves that shows off her super toned legs. I’ve never been a huge fan of kitten heels, but Katrina somehow makes this transparent pair work like a charm. She accessorised with gold hoop earrings and a dainty, silver rings.

Shiny, wavy hair, bold eyebrows and nude make up finish her look.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja turned heads in this all-black number. She wore a sheer, corset-style, bodice that had gathered detailing around the waistline and the deep, broad neckline make this look feel super vintage. A diamond-encrusted, chain-link necklace, tiny earrings and black, suede pumps elevate this look completely.

For her glam she chose, Hollywood curls, dark-lined, kohl eyes with a nude glossy lip. Her black nail paint though nails it for me.

Nushrat Bharucha At The Malang Screening

Nushrat Bharucha

Nushrat Bharucha showed up in an orange, oversized, double-breasted blazer from ASOS. What I loved is that she skipped out on her pants and wore this as a dress. Another highlight of this blazer was the big, black buttons. She paired the whole look with Saint Laurent‘s YSL black, sling bag. She finished out this sexy look with a choker from Outhouse and black, suede boot.

Messy, undone hair and nude make up was her go to for this look.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja In Indianwear

Who else stalks Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s Instagram for their daily dose of style inspo? I hope you guys are keenly raising your hands up just like me RN. I think we all can agree that her style game is always on fleek. She keeps experimenting with various silhouettes, colours and prints and can rock any outfit like a pro. We also gotta give credit to her sis, Rhea Kapoor and her team for styling her brilliantly. I wish my sister could style me too, LOL! Getting back to Sonam’s style tho, I’ve been noticing that she’s been wearing a lot of Indianwear. I’m absolutely loving her desi looks. Here are three Indian outfits I’m currently crushing on.

1. Gold Crush

Sonam looks like a royal princess in this gold, crushed lehenga set from Irth. Don’t you agree? The stunning jewellery is from the new Jannah collection by Bvlgari and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the ruling United Arab Emirates Royal Family. It looks super stunning and compliments the outfit very well.

Gold glitter and a black smokey eye with a nude lip and high bun complete the look.

2. Dreamy White Saree

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja In Manish Malhotra

This is one of my favourite looks on Sonam. This fluid, white chiffon saree with sequin and pearl scallop embroidery from Manish Malhotra looks so dreamy. Sometimes, minimal things make the maximum impact and this look is the perfect example of it. The jewellery is from the same Jannah collection and it looks super gorgeous. What really catches my eye is that mini bag from Rubeus Milano.

Her low braided bun with a winged eyeliner and a pearl stud at the tip of the wing elevates the whole look.

3. Cool For The Summer

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja In MasabaXRhea Collection

Donning an all-white ensemble again, this look is perfect for a summer wedding. Sonam wore a sheer saree with a floral printed blouse from the MasabaXRhea collection and looked so graceful. Those pearl dangling earrings from Birdhichand stand out on this outfit even though the tones merge with it.

The messy, loose braid with a smokey eye and nude lip add a modern touch to the whole look.

I’m in love with Sonam’s desi avatar. Are you? Let me know in the comments below.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Looks Like An Oasis Of Dreams For Fashion Lovers

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is known to make waves with her sartorial choices. She and her sister Rhea Kapoor run a successful brand called Rheson and she also runs Bhaane with her beloved husband Anand Ahuja. The clothes from both brands clearly reflect Sonam’s refined taste and curation.

Sonam posted pictures of her recent visit to Qatar where she attended The Doha Jewellery And Watches Exhibition. The actress is the ambassador of DJWE 2020. She made us believe, she was an oasis in the middle of the desert with her gorgeous feminine looks— a beautiful mirage in beautiful clothes.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja In Erdem

Call me obsessed, but I love me some print-on print action. I love it even more when print in different colours are mixed together. I love that Sonam pairs her Erdem floral, mermaid skirt with a black and white printed shirt from the same brand. Rhea Kapoor is a styling genius and adds this gorgeous eggshell coloured blazer to break the prints. The cascading overlap on the jacket makes for an interesting detail. The addition of this diamond and pearl encrusted brooch adds emphasis to her oversized, peak lapels. It is quite lovely and renaissance looking and matches her studded dangly earrings. Let’s not miss the beautiful pearl embellishments on the sleeves of the jacket. The look is squared off with chunky, platform gladiator shoes and a mid-size black handbag. I love everything about this look except those shoes that feel too chunky on this dainty and otherwise feminine look.

For her glam, Arti Nayar keep the makeup neutral and fresh. Blush pink lips and smokey brown eyeshadow were her focal points of the look. Hiral Bhatia gave her wispy locks that were pinned in a half up-half down hairdo.

In Etro And Ekaya Banaras

Sonam’s jacquard, ecru gown from Etro is to die for! I love the floral print with bright pops of blue, that then tie into the blue on the jacket. The dress that features a slight flare waist down also features pockets. YAY! She layered her floral gown with a yellow and electric blue Banarasi jacket from Ekaya Banaras that features golden buttis all over it. She paired her print-on-print look with brocade juttis by Shutiq. I thoroughly enjoyed how these prints have woven magic together even when they normally wouldn’t have worked together. She accessorised her look with tiny pearl earrings, a chunky necklace with a matching bracelet from Bulgari. A classic watch from ICW watches completed her look seamlessly.

Arti Nayar goes for a subtle look to keep the focus on the statement making outfit Sonam’s wearing. Rosy tones on the cheeks and lips finish out her glam. Hiral gives her a low chignon hairstyle.

I think look 2 was my favourite because I truly enjoyed the pairing of Indian textures with International fabrics. Which one these looks from Sonam Kapoor Ahuja do you like most? Let me know in the comments below.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Looks Like Black Swan In Her Latest OOTD

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja never shies away from speaking her mind and also making some bold fashion choices. Every time I slays and gives us a bomb AF look, she comes along knocking her own crown off, only to resume her OG title with another shocker! Sonam is currently in Qatar attending The Doha Jewellery And Watches Exhibition. The actress is the ambassador of DJWE 2020. TBH, her outfit totally looks like a modern rendition of the Black Swan costumes.

Rhea Kapoor styled Sonam in a sleek and shiny, black dress from Ulyana Sergeenko Couture. The one shoulder dress featured a feathery neckline and accentuated her gorgeous, hourglass figure. Adding to her look, was a pair of over the elbow black gloves, that really add that sophisticated touch. Her look was further accentuated by a diamond, layered necklace, a pair of  matching earrings, a ring and a diamond-studded bracelet from Bulgari. What a life it must be to be adorned in diamonds!

I just have to say it! Doesn’t Sonam look like an enchantress? Arti Nayar gave her a smokey eye with shimmery brown eyeshadow and bold brows. Nude lips, chiselled cheeks and jaw line finish her look flawlessly. Hiral Bhatia does a messy, low-bun hairstyle to accentuate the feathery neckline on the dress.

What do you like most about Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s look? Let me know in the comments below.

4 Celebrity Pantsuit Styles We’re Totally Keeping Up With

Parineeti Chopra And Kiara Advani Rocking Different Pantsuit Styles (Source: Yogen Shah)

After Project Runway, if there’s any other fashion-centric show that I’m currently in love with, it’s Netflix‘s Next In Fashion. I just finished watching the third episode and it was all about suits and pantsuits! But, I’m only going to talk about the latter today. At present, this powerful silhouette is my favourite trend and it seems like the celebrity world loves it too. You’ll not only see it on the red carpets but also as streetwear. This versatile outfit exudes so much confidence and makes you feel powerful. I guess that’s why so many stars love to wear them. Recently, I spotted some cool pantsuit styles on 4 of my fave celebs. So, if you’re looking for style inspo, take a look at them.

1. Athiya Shetty

Athiya Shetty (Source: Yogen Shah)

The traditional pantsuit is described as a set of coordinated trousers and top that gets paired with a jacket. However, Athiya goes bold with a navy blue, textured, cropped,  pantsuit from Kunal Rawal and I love it! She pairs it with silver accessories—metallic mary-janes from Christian Louboutin as well as a mini antique bag and layered silver necklaces from Amrapali. The whole look is styled by Ami Patel.

2. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

What a refined look! Sonam aced this trend like a total pro. She wore a black pantsuit with rich silver and red beaded embroidery from Dundas by Peter Dundas. She accessorized her suit with Louboutin heels and Bvlgari jewellery. Take a cue from her look if you want to keep it simple, yet classy.

3. Kiara Advani

Kiara Advani (Source: Yogen Shah)

Confession time. I’m not a fan of bright colours but Kiara’s look has got me drooling over her. Styled by Allia Al Rufai, Kiara was glowing in this royal blue pantsuit from Alina Anwar Couture at the premiere of her latest movie, Guilty. I absolutely love this colour and it matches her skin tone so well. I might just experiment with this shade of blue now, what about you? She paired her radiant outfit with Tanzire’s Hepworth statement earrings.

4. Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra (Source: Yogen Shah)

You can always choose to experiment differently with this silhouette too. Case in point, Parineeti’s look. What I really liked is how she opted to pair her white fitted top and blazer with oversized pants and white sneakers instead. She stepped out this afternoon looking so cool and comfy in this outfit. Doesn’t she look like a total Boss Babe in those black, oversized shades?

These celebrities have certainly upped the ante in their pantsuits. Don’t all of them look gorgeous? You too can play around with this trend but I certainly agree with what Tan France said on Next In Fashion. “When it comes to suits, fit is everything. And I mean everything”. So, if you want to rock a pantsuit, make sure you’ve got it tailored to perfection.

Which celebrity look did you like the most? Let me know in the comments below.

6 Times Sonam Kapoor Showed Us That You Can Never Go Wrong In Red

Sonam Kapoor Wearing Red Outfits

One of the major sources of style inspiration for me has-been celebrities. However, we haven’t been able to see too many new looks from them due to the unfortunate situation of COVID-19. We are all on a nationwide lockdown in order to curb this pandemic and obviously know that social distancing is the key to stop the spread of this virus. Since I was missing some celeb style inspo, I happened to scroll through Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s Instagram handle. She always offers something new with her fashion. And, guess what I noticed. Sonam has rocked the classic red colour, on so many occasions.

Personally, I’m not a fan of red but after looking at the many ways in which Bollywood’s fashionista had donned it, I have decided to implement some of them in the future. Even if it isn’t possible to recreate these looks there is no harm in taking some tips on how we can pair this tone. Take a look at six ways in which Sonam proved that you can never go wrong in red.

1. Adding a pop of colour to her red pantsuits

The pantsuit trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere even in 2020. Even though these looks are from last year, you can totally take notes on how she has paired her red power suits.

Look 1:

In a very unusual way, Sonam looked classy in this striking red, structured suit. Her blazer was like a trench and she wore it over a vermillion shirt, which added so much oomph. Co-ordinating maroon ankle, length boots and a cherry-shaped bag that were additional accessories that elevated the outfit. Her slick bun and gold jewellery finished off this look.

Look 2:

Elegance exists in simplicity too, right? When Sonam donned this gorgeous suit she opted to go minimal with her accessorising. She stuck to neutral tones—black flats, a tan bag, and pearl earrings.

Look 3:

If you don’t wish to go for any tan accessories, keep it simple with a red and black combo, just like this look. Add beaded hair accessories if you wish to.

2. Red and gold, a timeless classic

When you don’t know what to pair with red but want to stand out, choose to add gold. Whether it is in small amounts or too much, red and gold are a classic.

Look 1:

Go OTT for your next festive occasion. In this look, Sonam donned a stunning flared Anarkali suit that had brocade detailing all over. She wore this outfit with gold jhumkis and a red bindi. Doesn’t she look so regal?

Look 2:

Like I mentioned earlier, hints of gold in your outfit and accessories can also uplift your look. For instance, the sleeves of Sonam’s kurta set and her potli have gold brocade stripes, which adds an aesthetic touch. Gold chandbalis and red juttis with gold embroidered buttis were her choices of accessories.

3. Monochrome all the way

Want to stick to a tonal look? Then that’s a great option too, and you can trust Sonam to show you how to ace it.

Look 1:

Sonam lets her dramatic, red ruffled dress do all the talking with this look. And, the only way she achieved this with so much finesse is because of the texture play in the garment—sheer fabric mixed with layers of ruffles. When you experiment with textures in the same colours, you don’t need to accessorise much.

Look 2:

Another way of acing a monochrome look is by adding a statement piece. In this case, Sonam’s front-zipper blouse with fitted sleeves stands out due to its unique style.

4. Subtlety does the trick

For someone who doesn’t like bold, bright colours too much, this is a great trick for you. Use the brighter shade of red in small amounts with the other colour being the dominating one in your look.

Look 1:

For this year’s winter season, remember this look when you’re layering. Wear a red polo-necked tee with long sleeves underneath a neutral jacket. Pair it with red footwear. The point is to add a pop of colour in a subtle way.

Look 2:

Similarly, if your clothing is printed but has a hint of red in it, choose to wear red shoes of a shade similar to the one in the outfit. Sonam’s look below explains what I’m trying to say.

5. Breaking a print

Got a pair of red pants but don’t know how to style it? Don’t worry, this look gives a great tip. Sonam paired her straight fit, red trousers with a printed shirt that had tones of red in it. She also added a beige blazer, creme sling bag, and white stilettos. In this way, she not only broke the print but also created a balance with the choice of her colours.

6. Red and white FTW

And lastly, how can I forget this combo? Red with white is always right! Sonam paired a tailored shirt with culottes that had a skirt-like drape attached to it with a cool white box bag and white stilettos. Isn’t this a smart look?

I hope this helped you all understand how you can rock red. Is there any other colour you have trouble pairing with? Let me know in the comments below.

5 Ways To Wear The Corset Trend Like A Bollywood Celebrity

$

Probably one the most controversial piece in the history of fashion, corsets are seeing a revival. However, this bedroom-appropriate piece is now being taken out of the bedroom, into broad daylight. The corset trend is a risqué extension of the “innerwear as outwear” trends, such as slip dresses, bustiers, silk camis and bralettes. However, on the spring 2020 runways luxury design houses such as Vera Vang, Dion Lee, Charlotte Knowles, Ermanno Scervino, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and Tom Ford sent models strutting down the runway in satin, lacy and mesh corsets.

Corsets have had a terrible reputation for being painful and were similar to a torture device used to shape a woman’s body in the medieval age. The modern-day corsets, however, are not painful — they come in effortless ready-to-wear styles that are charming, romantic, yet subtle. The corset top is also surprisingly versatile; whether you chose to save it for the bedroom, or wear it for a girls night out, there are several ways to style and incorporate this trend into your style.

This bold and risky trend has paved its way into the closets of Bollywood celebrities as well; here is a look at how our favourite actresses are wearing the corset trend:

1. Katrina Kaif‘s faux corset style dress

If you are unsure about this trend, this look of Katrina’s is an excellent way to dip your toes in. For a promotional event, she picked a bodycon dress by Rasario. The top half of the dress was a faux corset, which was not sheer and had a nude lining on the inside. The bottom half of the dress is a simple pencil fit skirt. When trying out new trends, it always best to stick to classic silhouettes and fits such as a pencil fit, before you start experimenting.

2. Sonakshi Sinha‘s corset and pantsuit look

Adding a touch of sexy to power dressing, Sonakshi Sinha wore a white pantsuit, and on the inside, she picked a fitted satin corset top, which has a sweetheart neckline. She styled the look with poker-straight hair, to keep the styling sharp and added dainty layered necklaces to finish the look. Whether you pick a satin corset top like Sonakshi’s or a lace one, layering them under a pantsuit is one of the most popular styles of sporting the corset trend. Also, a little peek-a-boo of the corset under your oversize blazer keeps it modest yet sexy.

3. Radhika Madan‘s street-chic corset look

Radhika Madan gave a causal twist the corset trend. The actress played with textures in this look, as she wore a leather corset top, which he paired with denim. She took the “inside out” theme quite literally, as the jeans too had inside out pocket detail. It is a universal rule that if you want to dress something down and look more chill and relaxed, throwing denim into the mix should do the trick.

4. Sonam Kapoor‘s whimsical corset look

The OG fashionista of Bollywood, mixed sexy with dreamy in her Rosie Assouline dress. The dress included a black mesh corset top with a black paper bag waist, midi skirt. She balanced the silhouettes by keeping the top fitted and the skirt flowy. What is critical in this is the styling when it comes to such risque pieces. It was Sonam’s metal chain style necklace, drop diamond earrings, sultry smokey eyes and soft curls, that gave the outfit a dreamy and romantic appeal.

5. Deepika Padukone‘s reverse layer look

Another way to wear your innerwear as outwear is to wear it over your outwear. Deepika Padukone used a corset to the reverse layer. The actress wore an oversized white shirt by Jacquemus, which she cinched in place with a black Dolce and Gabbana corset, worn over the shirt. She styled the look with a pair of mom jeans and high heels rounded her look. She also stacked her look with plenty of gold accessories; I particularly like how the shoes matched the corset, it made the outfit look more harmonious.

Celebrity Beauty Routines

I have a feeling that if my Netflix account could talk, it would say, “Girl, leave me TF alone, go read a book or something”. Ever since the lockdown has been enforced, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time watching Netflix. Now I’ve reached a point, where there’s almost no stone left unturned (the stone being shows and movies).  That’s why I’ve now turned to YouTube to endlessly binge-watch content. From kitten playing the piano to endless food recipes, YouTube is what dreams are made of. However, my favourite thing to watch on YouTube is celebrity beauty routines! So if you’re tired of watching Netflix all the time, then here are some fun celebrity beauty routines you can watch:

Priyanka reveals in this video, three DIY skincare recipes that you can make with ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. It’s simple, quick and super effective!

4. Kylie Jenner‘s Makeup Secrets

Who wouldn’t want to watch beauty mogul, Kylie Jenner flawlessly do her makeup? From showing her eyeshadow techniques to how she bakes her face, you’ll find out everything about Kylie’s makeup routine in this comprehensive video.

6. Madelaine Petsch‘s 38-Step Beauty Routine

I love skincare, but when I read that Madeline Petsch’s beauty routine has 38 steps, I had to reread it just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. Even though I don’t have the patience (or money, LOL) to do a beauty routine with 38-steps, I enjoyed watching her do her beauty routine.

7. Rihanna‘s Going Out Makeup Tutorial

She’s a singer, songwriter, founder of Fenty Beauty and straight up a beautiful human being, Rihanna is someone we all want to be! In this video, she shows us her go-to makeup routine. It’s simple and leaves you looking naturally glowy and put-together.

8 Iconic Bollywood Loungewear Styles To Inspire Your Lockdown Look

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Source: YouTube: Veere Di Wedding, Student Of The Year, Dostana)

The first-ever Bollywood film was released over 100 years ago, and ever since then, Bollywood has been the most prominent fashion influencer in India. Sure, with changing times, our relationship with fashion and trends have come a long way. There are fashion bloggers who are shaping the way we dress, one Instagram post at a time. But, Bollywood movies and celebrities still hold the loftiest position in the Indian fashion game.

So if Deepika Padukone‘s midnight blue saree in the song Batameez Dil from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani inspired your farewell saree outfit, and when Rani Mukherjee danced to Koi Mil Gaya in Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, and you couldn’t stop drooling over her silver sequin dress, then why not seek fashion inspiration from Bollywood during the lockdown. The unique thing about Bollywood fashion is that everything is high-octane glamour, which means even when dressed down in PJs, our heroines look picture perfect. While that may be impossible and impractical to achieve, we can always seek loungewear inspiration from them.

As we are living in our PJs all day every day, here are some chic and comfy loungewear ideas from stylish Bollywood movies.

#1. Rani Mukherjee’s Red Silk Robe In Kuch Kuch Hota Hain

As Tina (Rani Mukherjee) is chilling in bed reading her murder mystery novel, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) visits her to confess his love. In that scene, Rani is lounging in a maroon silk robe, with her perfectly placed high ponytail, almost as if she was expecting Rahul. The movie released in 1998 and even today the silk robe is stylish, which goes to prove that this is classic every girl can invest in, and they would get maximum use out of it.

#2. Madhuri Dixit‘s White Silk Maxi Dress From Dil Toh Pagal Hai

As the lead cast of the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai celebrated Valentine’s day, like all single girls, Madhuri Dixit had a party of one, in her bedroom. She danced around in a white silk maxi dress that has lace trim around the neckline. A dress like this one, in 2020 is not just something to lounge in at home, but it can also be worn outside, thanks to slip dresses being a trend.

#3. Alia Bhatt‘s Sheer Look In Student Of The Year

Alia Bhatt became a style icon from her very first film. Her character in her debut movie Student Of The Year was of the popular girl Shanya whose style was also always on point. In the song Kukad Kamal Da, where all the girls in the hostel are having a celebratory dance about the arrival of a new good looking boy (strange, I know), Alia Bhatt danced in a sheer, baby doll style, top and shorts set.

#4. Sonam Kapoor‘s Tank Top And PJs In Aisha

Aisha has got to be one of the most stylish Bollywood movies, yet Sonam’s loungewear look in this one is the most relatable. In the scene where Abhay Deol surprises her with a visit in the middle of the night, she wore a blush pink tank top, which has typography on it. Statement tees are a big trend and instantly makes any basic top look cuter. She wore the top with a shrug, comfy, cropped PJs and furry slippers.

#5. Veere Di Wedding‘s Custom PJ Sets

The movie Veere Di Wedding was brimming with outfit inspo, including the loungewear. The lead protagonist of the film wore matching sets from luxury sleepwear brand Dandelion. My personal favourites are Kalindi‘s (Kareena Kapoor Khan) stationery print and star print PJ sets and Avni‘s (Sonam Kapoor) pink custom-made monotone set.

#6. Priyanka Chopra‘s Tank Top & Shorts In Dostana

Another iconic and super stylish character from Bollywood has to be Neha (Priyanka Chopra) from Dostana. While her styling in the movie was very Miami, her loungewear was somewhat relatable. She mostly lounges around the house in a fitted tank top paired with quirky printed shorts—a no-fail look, especially for summers.

#7. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Harem Pants & Long Tee In Jab We Met

A loungewear look that went onto become a massive trend was to wear your harem pants or salwar with a long tee. After Kareena wore her white salwar with a printed long tee in Jab We Met, women ditched their PJs for roomy, comfy salwars and paired them with not kurtas, but longline t-shirts for the night time.

#8. Sonam Kapoor’s Print-Clashing PJ Set In Khoobsurat

Of course, we had to mention Sonam Kapoor again, she is the OG fashionista of the industry after all. In the movie Khoobsurat, as she danced to the song Engine Ki Seeti in her PJ set, she wore a white polka tank top which she tied from the side. She aced the print-on-print trend by pairing her star printed tank top with bright pink leopard printed PJs; this is a combo I need ASAP!

Sneaker Trend, Jacqueline Fernandez & Nushrat Bharucha (Source: Instagram | @jacquelinef143, @nushratbharucha)

If there’s anything we’ve learned by now, it’s that sneakers go with everything. TBH, I’m so glad they are on-trend as we seem to be in a sneaker renaissance of sorts at the moment. My Adidas sneakers have literally replaced all the other shoes in my wardrobe for a multitude of occasions. But truly I don’t need to discuss how important and trendy sneakers are at the moment. I’m sure you already know that with so many styles and silhouettes available you can basically find a pair that goes with anything. Whatever the outfit, jeans, dress or skirt; a pair of sneakers is a necessary staple in your closet that keeps you cool and comfortable through the day.

While you might have some go-to outfits with your Keds it can start to get a bit boring and uninspired. We’ve listed some outfit inspo below from some of our favourite celebrities on how to style this year’s trending kicks. Whether the weather is hot or cold these latest styles are totally practical and stylish for everyone.

Keep scrolling to check out how these celebs have styled these trendy kicks:

1. White Sneakers

The all-white style is still on-trend and the perfect go-to shoe no matter what the season. You can easily pair this with literally anything, without thinking too much about it. Slip it on with types of denim or a cute dress and you’re good to go.

We love how Jaqueline Fernandez has selected a pair of all-white Nike sneakers with her brown leather outfit. It breaks up the whole look giving it a cool fresh vibe it needed to balance it out.

2. Platform Sneakers

Chunky soles and platform sneakers are making a comeback. It’s the perfect way to add a little height with comfort to your overall look and make you forget your old unstable heels. These are without a doubt an attention grabber that makes you instantly look taller when paired correctly. Check out Ananya Panday who looks super cute and flirty in her one-shoulder mini teamed with matching blush pink platform canvas sneakers. The dress length plus the lifted platforms give her a more youthful vibe and make her look like she has legs for days.

3. Colourful & Athletic Sneakers

I love a good classic white sneaker; I mean that’s why it’s on our list, but you can’t ignore the colourful sneaker trend either. This colourful athletic style has been seen literally on everyone from celebs to influencers on Instagram.

Can you say couple goals! We adore Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja’s colour coordinated outfits. They’ve paired they’re black and white matching outfits with more vibrant sneakers. This adds some colour to their look and lets the shoes speak for themselves. Perfectly on-trend, it’s time to add this vibrant style to your closet.

4. Dad Sneakers

Another ugly, chunky sneaker trend, the dad sneaker is here to stay. While this trend did start a few seasons ago its remixed versions are still showing up to date. They now come in more edgy styles or versions that play with embellishments. Nushrat Bharucha has perfectly teamed her more feminine outfit with chunky, dad sneakers that give more of an edge and sportier flair to the entire look.

5. Sneaker Boots

This season puts a spin on the classic, high-top sneakers with these futuristic-looking sneak boots. They consist of thick soles with slip-on styles and lace-up details. Look how amazing Rhea Kapoor looks in this edgy-chic look! She really makes a statement and her entire look teamed with the understated black, hybrid boot sneakers that just pulls the whole look together flawlessly.

What is your favourite sneaker trend? Let us know in the comments below.

Celebrity Bridal Fashion: Then & Now

Bridal, Deepika Padukone & Neha Dhupia | (Source: Instagram | @bridesofsabyasachi, @nehadhupia)

We’re getting major FOMO or I guess the better-coined term for this would be ROMO—the reality of missing out. With all the upcoming wedding festivities being cancelled or postponed due to this global pandemic we’re missing those parties something fierce. I know, most of us might be missing the enjoyment of shopping for our perfect guest appearances or getting decked out and dancing the night away. So, I thought why not take a walk down memory lane and take a look at some amazing bridal styles favoured by our iconic B-town celebs on their special day.

Bollywood has always inspired Indian fashion for decades, especially bridal outfits, whether it be in the movies or reality. A lot of us look up to our favourite actresses for inspiration for our own upcoming nuptials and pin ideas to our Pinterest broad. From the ever-elegant Madhuri Dixit to more recent modern brides like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra these beauties always make amazing fashion choices. Whether it be more subtle pieces from the ’90s or more vibrant looks in recent years, bridal fashion has definitely had an evolution. However, some pieces really create a style statement and continue to be iconic to this day.

Keep scrolling to check out some beautiful B-town celeb bridal looks below:

Then:

1. Kajol Devgan

In 1999, one of Bollywood’s favourite and most endearing couples, Kajol and Ajay Devgan, got married in a low-key ceremony. Looking like a Maharashtrian queen, she wore a forest green, nauvari sari, draped in the kashti style. This was complemented with her traditional jewellery that consisted of a nath, armlet and matching set of green bangles.

2. Madhuri Dixit Nene

While we don’t have Madhuri’s intimate wedding photos we did find one of her in her gorgeous reception dress. The famous Dhak Dhak girl looks beautiful and elegant in her gold and peachy pink ghagra-choli. While her outfit might seem very vintage now it was a popular look back then. And to no ones surprise, of course, Madhuri carried it off with so much grace and elegance and looking no short of a million bucks!

3. Twinkle Khanna

In 2001, Twinkle married her Khiladi, Akshay Kumar in a quick and quiet ceremony. The daughter of yesteryear stars, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia who barely had any time to plan the wedding went for a red and gold salwar kameez. Radiating like a new bride in this image she looks ethereal in her understated ensemble and modest jewellery, where the statement piece was her lovely mang tikka.

4. Karisma Kapoor

All of Karisma’s wedding outfits were designed by Manish Malhotra who was a lot of brides’ favourite designer by this time. She ditched the traditional red bridal colours and opted for a baby pink lehenga thus standing out from her contemporary brides that year. Her lehenga was intricately embroidered and paired with beautiful diamond-studded jewellery and a mang tikka that dazzled. But the cherry on top was the traditional nathini that just elevated the entire look. She looked so effortless.

5. Raveena Tandon

In 2004, Raveena got married in a traditional Punjabi Khatri and Sindhi style wedding that looked evidently like a lavish wedding. She dazzled in a maroon, velvet lehenga that was originally her mothers and reworked by designer Manav Gangwani. While she stuck to traditional colours, what truly stood out was the blinding gold threads and semi-precious stones on her long-sleeved choli. This ensemble was a definite style statement! Plus, let’s not forget that she literally was a queen on her wedding day. She sat in a 100-year-old palanquin that carried the Queen of Mewar. Now that’s how you make an entrance!

6. Aishwariya Rai Bachchan

One of the bigger Bollywood weddings of the last decade, the Bachchan wedding was definitely the talk of the town. Staying true to her roots, Aishwariya wore a golden, yellow Kanjeevaram saree designed by Neeta Lulla. Though native to a South Indian wedding in style, the saree had an ornate, coloured border complete with Swarovski crystals and gold thread work. Looking like royalty, she paired the saree with matching gold jewellery and kept her hair in a braided bun with gajra as most Mangolorian brides do. This a regal look for sure with a saree style that is still popular to date.

Now:

7. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena looks gorgeous in almost everything that she wears, but on her wedding day, she truly looked magical. Officially the Begum of the Pataudi Khandan after her marriage to Saif Ali Khan, Kareena shone in her mother in law—Sharmila Tagore’s wedding gharara. This is a family heirloom that originally belonged to Saif’s grandmother and was expertly redone and touched up by designer Ritu Kumar.  The golden coloured gharara style dress and heavy gold jewellery give a very regal and sophisticated air to Kareena on her wedding day making her look even more the perfect Pataudi bride.

8. Preity Zinta

Keeping it true to her Indian roots at heart, Preity looks exquisite in her favourite designers’ red lehenga. Manish Malhotra designed Priety’s vibrant lehenga with gold embroidery detailing and royal motifs on the border for her special day. Paired with a Borla, Polki jewels and understated makeup, this look is a great inspiration for modern brides going down the more simple yet elegant and traditional route for their weddings.

9. Anushka Sharma

One of the many popular celeb Sabyasachi brides on our list, Anuskha’s bridal wear is still a popular one many try to emulate to date. Her gorgeous pale, pink coloured lehenga with embellished lotus motifs is absolutely breathtaking and very romantic. It suits Anushka perfectly, making her look like a blushing bride. The matching jewellery also from ace wedding couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee, really complimented her entire look without being too overwhelming.

10. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

It seems 2018 was the year of major celeb weddings. Starting with the fashion-forward Sonam Kapoor. Needless to say, everyone was super excited to see what she would choose for her wedding to, beau Anand Ahuja. Sonam finally surprised all of us and chose a gorgeous classic red lehenga, covered with intricate gold embroidery from Anuradha Vakil. She completed her entire look with a pearl headpiece plus vintage jewellery and topped it all off with some Jimmy Choo heels.

11. Neha Dhupia

One of the more low-key weddings of all Bollywood actresses in recent years. Done by couturier Anita Dongre, Neha’s fresh, pastel pink lehenga vibed perfectly for her simple daytime ceremony. It was an elegant and lightweight blush creation that was made using rich silk fabric. It comprised of a choli with elbow-length sleeves and a voluminous skirt and sheer dupatta with a mint green border.  She kept her lehenga and makeup soft and understated, but her jewellery choices were much more striking. She wore a choker known as the princess necklace around her neck. Matching jhumkas, maang tikka teamed with red chooras completed her entire outfit. A mesmerizing yet understated look that makes an impact on your big day!

12. Deepika Padukone

Our next popular Sabyasachi bride on the list is Deepika who had two special wedding ceremonies. For her Konkani ceremony, Deepika opted for a dull gold and red Kanjivaram, traditional silk saree with woven gold threads from The House of Angadi. Paired with layered necklaces and matha Patti, she made for an elegant South Indian bride.

While for the Sindhi ceremony she wore a Sabyasachi creation in red and gold paired with some striking Polki jewellery which really made her whole look shine. The bridal dupatta and lehenga were covered in a very intricate and detailed embroidery. A fantastic traditional look that made her look like the epitome of a Northern bride.

13. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka is another bride who favoured two major designers for her wedding ceremonies. The first was a Ralph Lauren‘s special custom creation for her catholic ceremony.  The only word I can say for this dress is wow! This full-sleeved, white lace gown with a sheer top panel is something special for sure. It consisted of 135 satin covered buttons, mother of pearl paillettes, Swarovski crystals and a veil that went on for miles! A key detail sown in was a piece of her mother-in-law’s wedding dress.

While Priyanka had many gorgeous outfits for her festivities her Sabyasachi lehenga was the standout stunner! The vibrant, glittering, red lehenga choli looked stunning against her complexion and a bright red lip. The entire ensemble was embellished with crystals, hand-cut organza flowers, silk floss French knots and Siam-red crystals. But let’s not forget the fabulous Mughal jewellery that featured diamonds, emeralds, and pearls in 22 karat gold all by Chopard and Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery. A very delicate yet striking ensemble that made her look like a dream on this special day. Two show-stopping dresses for a show-stopping bride!

Anil Kapoor and Twinkle Khanna (Source: Instagram | @anilskapoor, @twinklerkhanna)

In a pathbreaking move two years ago, Twinkle Khanna and husband Akshay Kumar produced Padman — a film aimed at talking about menstrual health and normalising it in our society. On World Menstrual Health Day on Thursday, Akshay took to his social media to revisit the film tagging both his actresses, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. But he forgot to tag co-producer and wife, Twinkle.

Now, we all know how quick Twinkle is with her her wit, don’t we? She hilariously tweeted to Akshay saying he will not star in her next production. And guess who decided to jump into this funny situation and shoot his shot? The super cool Anil Kapoor. He tweeted to Twinkle that if Akshay is out of the project, maybe he could be a part of it. Sharing a video he did for the promotions of Padman two years ago with Rajkummar Rao, Anil wrote, “Maybe @RajkummarRao & I could be a part of your next production @mrsfunnybones. P.S Our audition tape is attached below!“.

Have a look at it:

And Twinkle responded! Playing along with Anil, she said that she is super impressed with these two “newcomers” in the video and doesn’t mind casting them! She wrote, “Wah! I am very impressed with the audition by these two newcomers, especially the one in the white shirt-And now I don’t even have to change the monogrammed masks we had bought for the main lead to use on the set :) Big hug and stay safe  @AnilKapoor.
Always love a hilarious Twitter banter, courtesy Twinkle!
