Sonam Kapoor recently headed to Dubai with the whole Dolly Ki Doli crew for the preview screening of the movie. There is no doubt that the fashionista looks amazing in literally every outfit that she chooses to wear; however this custom made, Ashi Studio outfit has been tickling our wishbone all day.

We also spotted the entire crew looking stunning at the preview. Producers Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika Arora Khan looked super fancy in their contrasting ensembles. So stylish right?

Filmfare Awards 2015 Predictions

It’s here! The Filmfare awards will take place tonight, and while I’m excited to find out who wins what – I’m even more excited to find out who will WEAR what! Sorry, but it’s all about the clothes for me. So this year, before we see the final choices, I decided to go ahead a predict what some of the celebrities might be wearing. Don’t worry, this isn’t just my prediction, I also did some detective work and spoke to their stylists – yes, they might have hinted a little. So find a comfy spot, bring your popcorn and take a look at some of the designers these celebrities might wear tonight.

1. Deepika Padukone

Lets start with the girl who’s style sometimes makes our head spin. Anaita Shroff Adajania is styling Deepika Padukone tonight and a little birdie tells me she might be wearing a gown by a new designer from Dubai. Of course these things aren’t finalised until the very last minute and some of her other options are Gauri & Nainika or Dior. Personally, I’m hoping she does something different – like maybe trousers instead of a gown.

2. Sophie Choudry

Sophie Choudry is always someone to keep an eye on. She might not be too experimental but majority of her outfits do the trick. This year, Tanima Khosla will be styling her and one of the top options for Sophie is a gown by Monisha Jaising.

3. Jacqueline Fernandez

Another celebrity who sets our style hearts on fire is Jacqueline Fernandez! Sources say Sabyasachi is her designer of choice tonight and she most probably will be wearing one of his exquisite creations.

 4. Shraddha Kapoor

Choices are Temperley London, Atsu and Bibhu Mohapatra but she’s most definitely wearing something western. Shraddha Kapoor is being styled by Tanya Ghavri tonight. I vote for Temperley, what about you?

5. Kajol

Kajol always gives us something to look at. Whether we love it or hate it, we most definitely love her and her stylist Triporna Majumdar tells us that if she attends tonight (she might not be in town) she’ll probably wear something by Shantanu & Nikhil.

6. Karisma Kapoor

While her sister Kareena Kapoor might not be attending, Karisma Kapoor is all set to walk the red carpet in a traditional outfit from either Monisha Jaising, Rohit Bal or Abhishek Sharma. How do we know? - Esha Amin (her stylist) told us her picks.

7. Alia Bhatt

Yes we love looking at Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, but if her last two appearances are anything to go by, Alia Bhatt is going to be the one to watch out for tonight. Sources say she’s wearing something by Nikhil Thampi but I’ve heard a few rumours about Alice + Olivia and Alexander McQueen as well. Personally, I’m hoping it’s Nikhil Thampi.

8. Ileana D’Cruz

Alia isn’t the only one who’s possibly wearing Nikhil Thampi tonight. Ileana D’Cruz has him on her top list as well and we’ve been told it’s not going to be a basic gown – if this is true, I can’t wait!

9. Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin may not attend tonight but if she does, you’re not going to believe what she’s picked. It’s Nikhil Thampi for the win, again! For her though, it’s got to be some kind of revolutionary sari – what do you think?

10. Sonam Kapoor

If Sonam Kapoor is going, it means we’re definitely going to be glued to our phones to see what she’s wearing. Of course sister, Rhea Kapoor will be styling her and the options are between Anamika Khanna, Rohit Bal and Elie Saab.

Best Dressed At The Filmfare Awards 2015

The most anticipated award show of the season took place last night; while we made a prediction list for the winners AND what everyone might be wearing (many of these were correct), we finally found out who the real winners were – award and outfit-wise. While looking at what the celebrities wore last night, the lady who stole my heart was without a doubt, Sonam Kapoor. I already told you she might wear Anamika Khanna, and she did! Her caped glory was finished off with a glorious up do, oodles of jewellery and all-round perfection. While I mentioned Deepika Padukone would turn up in a Dubai designer’s creation, it turned out to be a Lebanese one. In a  bustling gown by Ashi Studio, her lipstick was spot on but somehow, I wanted a little more (Deepika makes me greedy). The Nikhil Thampi ladies for the night didn’t disappoint – Ileana D’Cruz took some risks in her plunging, caped suit while Kalki Koechlin‘s quirky sari made us salivate. Among the women were the dashing men, of course. It’s now time to list our best beauty looks and this was a difficult number to come down to because where there’s a red carpet, there’s going to be a whole line of gorgeous celebrities! Female centric films are in vogue, especially after an eventful 2014 when everyone from Rani Mukerji to Bipasha Basu to Priyanka Chopra to Vidya Balan to Parineeti Chopra to Deepika Padukone had one each to her name. Now, after Khoobsurat, Sonam Kapoor is back with another female-centric film, Dolly Ki Doli. Here are the excerpts from our conversation with the actress.

After Khoobsurat, now Dolly Is Doli is another film that has earned you good reviews and fans. That must be overwhelming?

I don’t know if I can call this overwhelming but yes, it is humbling for sure. Dolly Ki Doli is a clean entertainer and frankly, there are very few of those that are made right now. You hardly find films with universal appeal. I hope that with every film of mine, the audience increases. This is the reason why I want Dolly Ki Doli to do better than Khoobsurat.

Yes, it is yet another female-centric film in quick succession for you after Khoobsurat. Does it further give you a reason to feel proud about the fact that you are running a film on your shoulders?

First and foremost, I don’t like the term ‘female-centric’. Secondly, when I talk about Dolly Ki Doli, it is an ensemble film. Everyone is equally important in there. I am getting a lot of support from other cast members, just as was the case with Khoobsurat. It is just that the film is titled Dolly Ki Doli and I am playing Dolly, so people presume that I am running the show here. As you can see, that is not the case.

Arbaaz has even roped in three relative newcomers (Rajkummar Rao, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma) as male leads to fit into the part.

All three of them are doing what they are supposed to do. They are lovely actors and find themselves in the film as it is doing justice to their talent. Moreover, it is not about the kind of star you are; at the end of the day a good actor is a good actor is a good actor.

Basically everything about her is perfect. But, did you know that this beautiful chica also gives amazing dating advice? You do now. In an interview with Filmfare, the interviewer asked for her opinion on one night stands. Jacqueline’s answer was something your concerned older sister would say to you.

I find one-night stands dangerous. It’s great to have fun but the problem with one-night stands is that you don’t know the person. That person could be a serial killer, you could contract a disease. No sex on the first date please. Perhaps, after a few more meetings.

See! Jacqueline could totally pass of as a love guru – an extremely pretty one.

Thursday evening saw the launch of Samyukta Nair‘s Dandelion – a sleepwear label we didn’t know we needed until we caught a glimpse of it. Six Degrees at The Leela had everyone from Vogue India‘s Bandana Tewari, designers Arpita Mehta and Shubhika from Papa Don’t Preach to Nishka Lulla and actors Mohit Marwah and Sonam Kapoor come out to celebrate and support Nair’s brainchild. Hosted by Pernia’s Pop Up Shop’s Pernia Qureshi, models mingled in their Dandelion sleepwear that made us want to trade in our stilettos and spanx for some soft poplin jammies.

The collection comes sprinkled with fun prints and are entirely handmade. They can be customised according to your personality and come in styles that you can be sure to love. Author Siddharth Sanghvi said of the collection

I don’t know anything about sleepwear but I can spot talent a mile off, and Samyukta Nair has it by the heaps. She certainly also has the bloodlines for success, and her vision for Dandelion carries traces of adventure and beauty that were also hallmarks of her grandfather, Captain Nair. She’s a silent player, chipping away quietly, a thoroughbred for the long race.

All decked up in that neon pink saree and lips to match, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sriram Nene attended the Hinduja bash in Juhu last night! But they weren’t the only celebrities at the bash; also in attendance were Mukesh & Neeta Ambani, Anu Malik, Anil & Sunita Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff to name a few. All in all, a star studded bash! Just look at them pose… adorbs!

Madhuri’s definitely set off the fashion police in me. She’s known as a timeless beauty and she always seems to have it together. Why? I’ll tell you why! Because Madhuri always dresses age and occasion appropriate and that, ladies, is the most important style tip ever. Her saree and makeup is bright and cheery, but also just right for her age and body. That’s how you should always do it. Which brings my attention to another well-dressed mommy, who always keeps it classy and age appropriate as well: Sunita Kapoor!

That outfit is sheer class, especially when paired with the heavy, ethnic jewelry. If you think only someone as young as Deepika Padukone can carry off the sharara, think again. The trick is all in the styling. It’s no wonder  Sonam Kapoor was born a fashionista!

Earlier this morning, we noticed that Sonam Kapoor Instagrammed a ton of delicious peanut butter cupcakes and cookies that were sent to her by the amazing chef Kelvin Cheung of Ellipsis. Yes, I know exactly what was in those packages because Team MissMalini got one of those last night as well (and yes, they were YUM!). However, the fashionista seems to be not keeping too well as she captioned these sumptuous delicacies saying,

We weren’t too sure what was making Sonam feel down, but it seems like she spent the day in bed. She also Instagrammed a picture of Rajesh Khanna‘s biography placed carefully under her reading glasses. The caption read:

Everyone needs a day off, even Sonam Kapoor. Unfortunately, though, it’s not just a day off – just a little while ago, the actress Instagrammed yet another picture, which took us quite by surprise.

Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards

It’s tomorrow, It’s tomorrow! The first of its kind – the Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards are tomorrow on Feb 11th, 2015 and guess who’s going? Duh, we are, because we’re the official Online Partners! While Nykaa and Femina have both been heavy weights in the Indian beauty industry, this is the first time they’re coming together to celebrate and award the best in beauty, within India.

The jury, who have given their final word on these awards, consist of hair expert – Coleen Khan, makeup artist – Clint Fernandes, renowned photographer – Jatin Kampani, Dia Mirza, Carol Gracias, Femina editor Tanya Chaitanya and Nykaa founder – Falguni Nayar. Since these are all beauty awards, the beautiful Kajol and Sonam Kapoor will be attending also! Our boss lady, MissMalini, will be presenting a special award and there’s just so much happening, we can’t contain our excitement… clearly.
