It seems Sonam Kapoor is going through a difficult phase lately. She was recently hospitalized after being diagnosed with a stomach ailment. And reportedly, she has now lost one of her diamond necklaces worth 5 lakh rupees. Apparently, it has been stolen from her residence in Juhu, Mumbai. And the actress had gone to Juhu police station along with her mother to file a FIR about the robbery.

It seems the police has already started their investigation and they are soon going to check the CCTV footage of their house. They are also going to question the house help regarding this matter.

Every girl loves her diamonds and we are extremely disheartened to know that our favourite B-town fashionista just lost some of hers. Here’s hoping that the police finds the necklace soon!

We streamed Tommy Hilfiger‘s show at NYFW live on our website here. It was the 30th anniversary of the brand and to celebrate, you could buy some of the limited edition pieces right off the runway! That’s not all, he even had the venue look like a football field with models in his clothes making a very pretty looking line up.

3. Sonam & Jacqueline Fernandez aren’t the only stylish BFFs we’ve seen

And that Sonam and Jacky weren’t the first stylish BFFs we have seen!

The ever-evolving Sonam Kapoor not only rocked a path breaking dress at last night’s Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards 2015, but her makeup also had a supermodel moment! I cannot stop staring at that graphic, geometric eye and kudos to her for being one of the few stars to sport a runway look. While the rest of her face is rocking minimal makeup, her lids are covered in a shimmery, dark blue. I suspect it’s a liquid eyeshadow winged out at the ends using a graphic liner brush (I know these brushes are available at MAC). While this look stole the show and could not have been more apt for a style award function, some of the other A-list ladies also brought their best face forward.

I love the natural, nude, two-toned lips on Nargis’s voluptuous pout. And that fringe and ponytail make her look adorable. I love how simple ponytails are making a red carpet comeback. Remember Dakota Fanning and Jennifer Lopez at the Oscars?

Aditi Rao Hydari

Speaking of hair, Aditi Rao Hydari‘s hair is having a major princess moment on the red carpet. Every now and then, it’s nice to get an all out braided hairdo like this one. Plus, her makeup isn’t something that always suits Indian skin tones with the neon pink lips and the silver shadow. But hey, she looks great! You go girl! :)

And whoa… isn’t Shruti Hassan giving you that Freida Kahlo-esque vibe, minus the unibrow, of course? Maybe the hair was inspired by the dress or the other way round, but we think it’s pretty cool of her to rock this hairdo!

The ever beautiful Sonam Kapoor was out and about in her favourite designer, Elie Saab‘s pink brocade and organza fil coupe gown. She accessorised with floral,‬ rose gold and diamond‬ earrings and a two-finger floral ring from Anmol Jewellers, as well as a lovely ring by Notandas Jewellers. A gold clutch by Thale Blanc finished off the look. Her red lips and subtle cat eye makeup went perfectly with her side swept tresses.

As you may have heard, Sonam Kapoor has been tested positive for swine flu and was airlifted over the weekend from Rajkot – where she was shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - to Mumbai. She’s currently receiving treatment, but it seems that the news of her infection has shaken the entire team. The crew received the news in the middle of shooting a massive song, and since then, it looks like many people on sets wanted to get tested too. Director Sooraj Barjatya has asked Salman Khan to get tested as well, just to be sure that he didn’t catch the infection.

From what I hear, Sooraj is worried for Sonam and has told her family not to rush her back to the sets. As for the film’s schedule, it seems like Sooraj has worked it out: he has sorted out a way of finishing most of the scenes with Salman and the other cast. Sonam will join the cast only after full recovery.

Here’s hoping Sonam feels better very soon!

Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone

Blow hot and blow cold – that’s exactly how I’d define the equation between frenemies Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The two B-town beauties had made waves with their rather catty remarks about their contemporaries (and Ranbir Kapoor) when they appeared on the show Koffee With Karan a few years ago. Ever since then, their bond has gone through many ups and down.

In fact, Sonam had even admitted to saying stupid things about Deepika during one of her interviews. And recently, while talking to a glossy, Sonam spoke at length about DP. The former even accepted that the latter’s career has panned out to be better than hers. Here’s what she said:

Well, she’s doing much better than I am. Her career has taken a completely different path from mine. She’s doing some amazing work. I’m happy for her and she deserves it. There’s definite growth in her work, choices and acting. She’s started looking better and she’s dressing better. She’s refined herself. She started off as a raw diamond and now she’s a beautiful piece. It’s fascinating. My journey hasn’t been as smooth and easy. But I’m trying to get there on a different path. We started off on the same road and went off in different directions.

I know a Gujarati family where the cook repeatedly raped their 13-year-old daughter. The conservative family, scared of the social repercussions, did not report the crime. They did not even beat up the cook, just dismissed him as they did not want to draw attention to the rape as it would (in their eyes) bring shame to the family. A clear message was sent, not just to the assailant but to everyone else around as well, ‘There is no punishment for this crime.’ That cook is still out there, working in another household and probably looking for yet another opportunity to rape yet another girl as he now knows that he can get away with it so easily.

Anushka, Alia and Sonam

Lately, Anushka Sharma is beaming with joy. And why won’t she? After all, her first ever female-centric film, NH10, has been accepted by the audience. A good weekend at the box-office was followed by an equally successful week. Many were doubtful about the fate of this ‘adults only’ dark and violent flick but it managed to rake in a lot of moolah quite comfortably.

As a result, around 20.5 crore came in, which brings this moderately budgeted film into the green zone. The movie has started making profits and numbers would continue to increase as there is no major release for the rest of the month. It would be interesting to see if NH10 continues to gather pace and crosses the collection of Rani Mukherji‘s Mardaani which had made 35 crore. However, Sonam Kapoor‘s Khoobsurat (a 30 crore affair) and Ali Bhatt‘s Highway (29 crore) could be definite milestones to overcome.

Meanwhile, Dum Laga Ke Haisha continues to bring in audience for itself on a steady note, as a result of which, it first had a good weekend and also enjoyed very stable weekdays. With close to 26 crore in its kitty already, the fun flick is now set to hit the 30 crore mark.

As things stand today, it could be a race between NH10 and Dum Laga Ke Haisha to hit this mark first. And it would be quite intriguing to follow this race as both the movies are vastly different from each other. Let’s see which one does better!

The international brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris and Vogue India’s March cover girl, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stepped out on the red carept in a gorgeous black and gold Sabyasachi outfit. Last night was the Hindustan Times Style Awards 2015 and the stars really put their best fashion foot forward, well… at least most of them. But of course, Deepika Padukone in Monisha Jaisingh and Sonam Kapoor in Ellie Saab were by far the best dressed of the night, for me at least. But a major shout out to Huma Qureshi for that Bhavya Bhatnagar style statement and man, have you seen that Bachchan family picture? Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back and killing it in that Toni Maticevski gown! Shahid Kapoor literally looks like sex on legs in that outfit and our favorite chocolate boy, Imran Khan, is very dapper in that suit and bow-tie. Shraddha Kapoor looks adorable in that Paolo Sebastian dress and we’re glad she didn’t opt for a floor-length gown. Aditi Rao Hydari also looks ravishing in another Deme By Gabriella cut-out. After we were floored by last month’s cover girl for Vogue India, they came out with another classic and stylish beauty gracing the cover – Sonam Kapoor. Here at the headquarters, Team MissMalini recently spoke about the amazing cover just as it came out on social media. But a couple of minutes later, the Elle India cover was out on editor Aishwarya Subramanyam‘s Instagram and boom, it just blew our minds! Ever since the Vogue Empower #MyChoice video hit the Internet, there’s been a lot of talk about it: while some people are praising the concept, others have been criticizing it for “male-bashing” and not targeting the real issues. By and large, though, the industry has come out in support of it, with many celebrities sharing the video on their own social media profiles. Kangana Ranaut and Sonakshi Sinha also reacted to the short film, saying that the initiative and efforts should be appreciated.

And recently, Mirror did an interview with Sonam Kapoor where they spoke to her about the video. Here’s what they’ve quoted her as saying:

Elitist women have always had wrong ideas about feminism. They think male-bashing… hating men…makes you a true feminist. I don’t have to make a video to voice my opinions. My actions have always spoken louder than my words. I’m proud to be a woman and I respect my independence. I’m never afraid to give my opinion on any matter. That’s what feminism is about.

However, Sonam clarifies that she has been quoted out of context:

Out of context or not, I do agree when Sonam says that male bashing and hating men doesn’t make someone a true feminist – quite the opposite, in fact, if you believe that feminism is all about equality. But something about her pointing fingers at “elitist women” doesn’t sit right with me, considering that we’re all very privileged here – and Sonam moreso. That doesn’t necessarily mean we all look at feminism as another form of male-bashing.

However, Sonam did say she was quoted out of context, so I’m inclined to believe that this wasn’t exactly the sentiment she was trying to put across. I would, though, like to know what she really thinks – directly from her – because conversations on matters like this can only help. And at the end of the day, whether you liked the My Choice video or not, you can’t deny that it has opened up avenues for more conversations on feminism in this country.

Hold your hearts! Nothing can prepare you for what Shabana Azmi and Manish Malhotra had planned for the 4 year anniversary of The Mijwan Welfare Society. This association with Manish Malhotra goes back to 2009 when Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric was unveiled for the first time. 2015 celebrated the time-honoured associations, craftsmanship and womens empowerment between the two.

The stars came out with their family ties and walked the runway in garments beautifully created and presented by India’s favorite and super loved name in fashion (especially when it comes to dressing Bollywood!) It was a moment to cherish and support when Farhan Akhtar & Javed Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor & Anil Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and papa, Shatrughan Sinha, and the Bachchans of course, Amitabh Bachchan & Shweta Bachchan-Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan with mum Jaya Bachchan brought the evening to supernova of a finish. This was a fashion event with a serious cause. Started by Shabana’s dad, Kaifi Azmi, his daughter and her god-child Namrata Goyal have taken the foundation and pledged to work towards a brighter, sustainable future for the girls and women of Mijwan. Manish used the beautiful chikankari fabrics made by the humble hands of these women and presented an enchanting summer bridal collection that started with off-whites & creams and moved into pinks, lilacs, powder blues, purples and came to a show-stopping series of looks in colour blocks and reds. The collection got its fair share of glitter dust in sequins and drama with beaded tassel detailing.

Like I said, the grand presentation for a noble cause was an overwhelming affair for the audience present and Shabana and Manish sure pulled in all their star power in support of Mijwan. With musical guests like Shankar Mahadevan and his son providing live music for show, hair by Adhuna Akhtar & BBlunt and make up by Fat Mu, this was an affair to remember. After two fashion weeks, where we sat and reviewed an army of designers, this show was like icing on the cake, where fashion came out with Bollywood for a cause, more important and noteworthy than all the trivial things we fuss about. #WellPlayed
